Calendar issues usually have one of five causes. Find the symptom you're seeing below — the fix is right under it.
The calendar is blank or tasks are missing
Switch to month view first and scroll to the current week — most "missing" tasks are just outside the date range you're looking at.
If you're still seeing nothing:
- Confirm the circle actually has tasks scheduled (open the circle directly in the app to verify).
- If you subscribed to a calendar feed, generate a fresh feed URL from your account settings and re-add the subscription.
Tasks show up at the wrong times
Time zone mismatch is the most common culprit. Calendar feeds send timestamps in UTC; your external calendar converts them based on whatever time zone it is set to.
Check both:
- Your Our Caring Circle account time zone (under settings) — should match the time zone you're physically in.
- Your external calendar's time zone (Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, etc.) — same.
If they don't match, fix whichever one is wrong and tasks will display correctly going forward. Existing entries should refresh on the next sync.
New tasks don't appear in my synced calendar
External calendar apps decide when to refresh subscribed feeds — and "decide" is the key word. The feed is correct on our side; the delay is on theirs.
- Google Calendar typically refreshes every few hours.
- Apple Calendar can take up to 24 hours.
- Outlook varies by version, often 3–6 hours.
Calendar sync stopped working entirely
Two likely causes:
You regenerated your feed URL
Old URLs stop working immediately when you generate a new one. This is a security feature — if you suspect someone shouldn't have access to your feed, regenerating revokes it. After regenerating, copy the new URL into your external calendar.
The subscription got deleted
Sometimes external calendars drop subscriptions silently — usually after extended periods of failed fetches. Check your external calendar's subscriptions list. If our feed isn't there anymore, just re-add it.
Calendar feeds aren't available in my plan
Calendar feeds are a Circle Essentials feature ($12/mo). The Free plan doesn't include them.
If you're on Free and want to sync your circle's tasks to your phone or computer calendar, you'll need to upgrade in-app. The feature becomes available immediately — your existing tasks all start syncing once you generate the first feed URL.
None of these match your issue? Email support@ourcaringcircle.com with a screenshot and we'll dig in.
